At Peter Michael Winery we are committed to a limited production of high-quality wines. Your offering primarily reflects your length of participation in our program and your buying history. We make every effort to be as equitable as possible. Due to our small production, we are not able to offer all wines to all members and we cannot guarantee offerings. Quantities are limited, and orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Order early to avoid disappointment.
Peter Michael orders are shipped from high-quality fulfillment companies in CA. Some states prohibit direct wine sales. If you do not see your state on the shipping chart below, we cannot ship to your state. Those shipping wine to the following states must pay state sales taxes on purchases: AZ, CA, CT, DC, HI, IN, ID, LA, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, SC, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI.
Sales Tax Rates 1) Additional local sales tax for this state may be required, depending on your shipping address.
2) These states require the collection of sales tax on shipping charges.Some state laws require quantity restrictions, or have other limitations. Please find your state in the list below for full details on the restrictions for your wine order and shipment:
- Alabama orders require an ABC permit and shipment to an ABC approved store. To get your Alabama ABC Permit, please visit http://www.abc.alabama.gov/liquorimport.aspx. We will need to receive a copy of your completed permit before we can ship your wine - this can be faxed to us at (707) 942-8314. Please note that you also must provide a valid shipping address for an ABC permitted store - we cannot ship to your home address.
- Alaska orders will be shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Arizona orders will be shipped to a retailer in Phoenix, who will deliver your order to your door via refrigerated truck. Please note that Arizona shipments may take up to a month from the time of shipment to reach you. However, rest assured that your wine is temperature controlled during its entire time in transit.
- Arkansas - the winery cannot legally ship to Arkansas.
- California orders will be shipped via UPS Ground.
- Connecticut orders will be shipped through the 3-Tier system.
- Colorado orders will be shipped direct via UPS 2-Day.
- Delaware - the winery cannot legally ship to Delaware.
- District of Columbia orders will be shipped via the 3-Tier system.
- Florida orders will be shipped via UPS 2-day.
- Georgia - Georgia imposes a total fifty case limit per year for the total direct winery-to-consumer sales into the state from our winery. We will fill orders up to this limit in the order they are processed. However, after we have reached our fifty case limit for the year, shipping to Georgia will no longer be available, and later GA orders may be trimmed to comply with state law. We recommend shipping to another state if at all possible. Orders to GA will be shipped UPS 2-Day.
- Hawaii limits wine purchases to six cases of wine (54 liters) per year, per consumer per address. We cannot exceed this limit. Hawaii orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Idaho orders will be shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Illinois limits wine purchases to two cases of wine (18 liters) per year, per consumer per address. We cannot exceed this limit. Illinois orders ship via UPS 2-Day.
- Indiana - orders will be shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Iowa limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per consumer per address. Iowa orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Kansas - the winery cannot legally ship to Kansas.
- Kentucky - the winery cannot legally ship to Kentucky.
- Louisiana limits wine purchases to four cases of wine (36 liters) per year, per consumer per address. We cannot exceed this limit. Note that all winery shipments via New Vine Logistics to Louisiana addresses are now being tracked, so if your purchases from other wineries have already exceeded the state quantity limit, we cannot ship additional wine to you.
- Maine - the winery cannot legally ship to Maine.
- Maryland - the winery cannot legally ship to Maryland.
- Massachusetts orders are shipped via the 3-Tier system.
- Michigan orders are shipped via the 3-Tier system.
- Minnesota limits wine purchases to two cases of wine (18 liters) per year, per consumer. We cannot exceed this quantity limit. Orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Mississippi - the winery cannot legally ship to Mississippi.
- Missouri limits wine purchases to two cases of wine (18 liters) per month, per consumer. We cannot exceed this quantity limit. Orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Montana - the winery cannot legally ship to Montana.
- Nebraska limits wine purchases to one case of wine (9 liters) per month, per address. We cannot exceed this quantity limit. Orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Nevada limits wine purchases to twelve cases of wine (108 liters) per year, per consumer. We cannot exceed this limit. Note that all winery shipments via New Vine Logistics to Nevada addresses are now being tracked, so if your purchases from other wineries have already exceeded the state quantity limit, we cannot ship additional wine to you.
- New Hampshire - the winery cannot legally ship to New Hampshire.
- New Jersey orders are shipped via the 3-Tier system. Please note that New Jersey charges sales tax on shipping charges.
- New Mexico limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per consumer. New Mexico orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- New York orders are shipped direct via UPS 2-Day. Please note that New York charges sales tax on shipping.
- North Carolina limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per consumer. North Carolina requires the collection of sales tax on shipping charges. North Carolina orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- North Dakota - the winery cannot legally ship to North Dakota.
- Ohio orders will be shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Oklahoma - the winery cannot legally ship to Oklahoma.
- Oregon limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per consumer. Oregon orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Pennsylvania - the winery cannot legally ship to Pennsylvania.
- Rhode Island - the winery cannot legally ship to Rhode Island.
- South Carolina limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per consumer. South Carolina orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- South Dakota - the winery cannot legally ship to South Dakota.
- Texas limits wine purchases to fifteen bottles per 30 day period, per consumer. Texas orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Utah - the winery cannot legally ship to Utah.
- Vermont limits wine purchases to twelve cases per year, per consumer. Vermont orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day. Please note that Vermont charges sales tax on shipping charges.
- Virginia limits wine purchases to two cases per month, per address. Virginia requires the collection of sales tax on shipping charges. Virgina orders ship via UPS 2-Day.
- Washington orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day. Please note that Washington charges sales tax on shipping charges.
- West Virginia - the winery cannot legally ship to West Virginia.
- Wisconsin limits wine purchases to three cases of wine (27 liters) per year, per consumer. We cannot exceed this limit. Wisconsin orders are shipped via UPS 2-Day.
- Wyoming - the winery cannot legally ship to Wyoming.
You must provide your e-mail address in order to receive prior notice of delivery . Orders must include a ship-to telephone number, an accurate shipping address, and a valid credit card number for payment. This helps eliminate delays and protects your investment. Missing information will impede the processing of your order and/or risk the safe delivery of your wine.
Wine can only be delivered to a person who is 21 years of age and older. All packages will be labeled “Adult Signature Required.” We strongly recommend shipping to a business where someone can sign for your package. In some cases, your shipment may arrive in two or more separate boxes. It your responsibility to make arrangements for the receipt and signature of each box. We now charge return fees of $10 ($20 for 3-tier states) along with any additional shipping charges after 3 unsuccessful delivery attempts have been made. Shipments may be delayed due to weather conditions observed from our end. Peter Michael Winery cannot be held accountable in the event of weather conditions that arise during transit or upon delivery.
Please calculate your shipping rate by multiplying your state's 1-6 bottle rate for each 6 bottle increment in your order. If you are ordering online, our shopping cart will calculate these rates for you. For example, the shipping rate for a 14 bottle order would be your state's 1-6 bottle rate times 3. Magnums count as two bottles for the purposes of calculating shipping fees, while 3 liter bottles are charged at the six bottle rate.

4 - AL residents must provide an ABC permit and can only ship to an ABC approved store. This permit is available online at http://www.abc.alabama.gov/liquorimport.aspx.We have chosen the shipper with the best-reported delivery record for your area. In most cases, this will be UPS 2-day Air.
In 3-tier states, shipments travel via Air to the city hub and the local retailer will choose the ground carrier for the final leg of delivery.Due to storage restrictions, it is not possible to arrange for pick-up at the winery or the warehouse.
We will begin shipping orders on March 17th and continue shipping through May 19th.
