2) Checking and Changing your Account Settings

After you first log in to the website, we recommend checking your account information by clicking on the My Account link on the right (in the shopping cart sidebar) of the screen to verify that we have the correct information displayed for you.

We recommend checking all of the following prior to the start of each release period:

Bill to & Ship to Addresses – Please make sure that your preferred “bill-to” and “ship-to” addresses are correct and appropriately flagged. We will mail your ordering packet to the address marked as your Primary Billing Address.

Email Address - Please make sure that the email address listed in your “Contact Information” is correct. This is the address to which we will send the email version of your offering, as well as subsequent order, billing and shipping confirmations.

Additional Addresses – If we have shipped to you at an address or addresses other than the one listed in “Contact Information”, please make sure that this information is up to date.

Birthdate - We require that every person on our mailing list be 21 years or older to comply with state laws regarding the consumption and purchase. If we do not have an accurate birthdate in our system, it may result in your order being delayed or canceled. Please ensure that you have entered the correct birthdate in your account detail.

If you would like to change your account settings, click on the Edit button in the Contact Information section to change your primary address, password, or email. If you are a new customer, we highly recommend changing your password to increase your level of security. You can also Add additional shipping addresses in this area. Make sure all of the information is correct, and then click Commit.

If the email address we have on file is incorrect or infrequently used, please update it to a valid email address that is checked regularly. All communications regarding your order will be sent to this email address. Additionally your email address is required to log into our online ordering system.

After you have verified or changed your account information, click on the Shopping link listed under Navigate at the top of the page to return to your Offering.

3) Ordering your Offering

You should now see a list of wines and prices, along with the amount offered to you, listed as your Offering .

You can view specific details on each wine by clicking on either the name of the wine or the picture to the left of the wine name. You will be taken to a screen where you can see the wine description, tasting notes, and links to related products (including Wish List entries and different bottle sizes). Note that ordering is enabled within this wine-specific view. You can return to the full listing of your Offering by clicking on Offering in the Navigate section above the wine description, or by selecting Offering in the left hand menu.

To order a wine, enter the amount you’d like to order in the field to the left of the
Add To Cart button.

Click the
Add To Cart button. Your wine will appear in the shopping cart (visible as the black section on the right of the screen) and you can continue shopping. Make sure you have selected the correct bottle size!

If you make an error, and wish to remove a wine entirely from your shopping cart, click the icon next to the wine in question. To edit your quantity within the shopping cart, click the icon next to the wine you wish to edit.

If you would like to split your Offering between multiple addresses, you must place separate orders for each address.

You can always return to your Offering by selecting the Offering in the Category box at the top of the screen.

4) Ordering your Wish List

The Wish List is the area where you can enter requests for wines above and beyond your offering. Wish List requests are filled, as inventory allows, after all customer offerings have been processed.

Please do not place Wish List requests larger than what you would actually like to receive. Once submitted as an order, we will consider any part of your Wish List request that is fulfillable as a confirmed order.

Wish List items will appear as "Wish List Item - Fulfillment not Guaranteed" in your shopping cart and on your invoice. If we can fill a Wish List request, it will be charged at the normal price for that product at that size. If we cannot fill a Wish List request, you will not be charged for that part of your order. If you have placed an order consisting only of Wish List items, and it cannot be filled, the order will be canceled after the end of the offering.

When creating offerings for future releases, we take your Wish List requests into account, including those requests we couldn't fill. It is often the case that we do not have enough wine remaining to fill Wish List requests after filling all customer offerings.

Please note that any orders with Wish List items will ship approximately one month later than Offering only orders - regardless of whether your Wish List requests are fulfilled. Because we cannot fulfill Wish List items before processing our Offering items, orders with Wish List items cannot ship until later in the shipping cycle. As such, we recommend separating your Wish List and Offering items into two separate orders to speed the delivery of your Offering selections.

To access your Wish List, select Wish List from the navigation menu on the left hand side of the screen. You will be presented with a list of Wish List items. Use the same process to order selections from the Wish List as you would from your Offering.

You can always return to your Wish List by selecting Wish List in the Category drop-down menu at the top of the screen.

5) State Quantity Limits

An important note for customers shipping to states with quantity limits - to facilitate the entry of your order, our store software will allow you to enter orders which exceed your state’s quantity limits. However, before your order ships, it will need to comply with your state’s shipping laws. As such, we may edit or split the order to fulfill the legal requirements of the state in question. The winery is fully committed to respecting all applicable state laws.

Please click here for the rules and regulations governing state shipping laws.

For customers wishing to have their wine stored in California, there are a variety of companies that specialize in offering cellar management services. For your convenience several such services are listed below. Please contact the companies directly for further information.

All Ways Cool, (707) 545-7450, www.allwayscool.com
Fifty-Five Degrees, (707) 963-5513, www.fiftyfivedegrees.com
Vinfolio, ( 415) 946-1300, www.vinfolio.com
Vintrust, (415) 561-8410, www.vintrust.com

For domestic shipments, the winery cannot ship to “third party shippers” such as Aero Packing or Buffalo Shipping. To do so may place the winery in violation of state laws in states where it is not otherwise legal for us to ship to consumers.

For other options, please see below:

States with Monthly Quantity Limits - For those customers who wish to order in excess of monthly state shipping limits, we will split your order into separate monthly shipments to comply with state shipping laws.

States with Yearly Quantity Limits - For those states that enforce a yearly quantity limit per consumer, you must ship any remaining offering you wish to purchase to another state. For those states that enforce a yearly quantity limit per address, you may place an additional order for the remainder of your offering, provided you use a new address and Ship-To recipient.

Please click here if you would like more information regarding your state's quantity limits. Please call us if you have any questions at 1-800-354-4459.

6) Submitting your Order (Checking Out)

Once you have placed an item in your shopping cart, it provides you with the Check Out button.

Click on this button to head to the check out screen.

After clicking on the check out button, you willl be taken to an order verification screen. Please verify that your billing address is where your credit card statements are sent, and that the shipping address is correct. Changes to either address or your shopping cart contents can be made by clicking on the Edit button located to the right of each section of this page.

At this point, you will be presented with your final billing and shipping information, an invoice, and a place to enter your credit card information. Please verify that the Shipping Address is where you want the wine delivered.

An adult signature is required to receive any wine shipment. We highly recommend shipping to a business where an adult will be available to sign for your delivery.

You will have the option to save the credit card on our secure servers for future purchases, and a field to enter any comments or special requests you might have.

Remember that your Wish List selections will show as Wish List Items - Fulfillment not Guaranteed. Remember, your Offering and Wish List orders should be placed separately. If we can fill your Wish List requests, we will email you after the ordering deadline with your final order amount before shipment. Note that initial shipping charges and sales tax charges may decrease if we are unable to grant your Wish List requests.

If you wish to change your order at this point, click the Edit button above your Invoice. This will take you back to the Offering screen.

If you wish to change your billing or shipping information, click the Edit button within the appropriate billing or shipping section.

Once you are certain that all of your order details are correct, click on Submit Order. You will be emailed an invoice with your order information, and returned to the Peter Michael Winery home page. When your wine ships, you will receive a second email containing your tracking information.

Order Payment - we will not charge your credit card until your total order is ready to be processed by our fulfillment warehouse. Usually this occurs 1-3 weeks before your shipping date. In some cases, this may mean as much as a 10 week delay from the time you place your order until it is charged. Please ensure that your payment information will remain valid throughout the shipping cycle - declined payment information will result in shipment delays and/or the cancellation of your order.Note that we often hold orders to avoid adverse weather conditions that may be observed on our end. When your wine ships, we will notify you via email. Please ensure that the credit card you enter for payment will remain valid for the total of your order until it is ready to ship.

Note that once you submit your order, you cannot change it through the E-Commerce system. This includes shipping and billing addresses, and payment information. To change your order, you will need to contact Customer Service. Changes to orders, including shipping address, will only be accepted up to the time the order is forwarded to our warehouse for shipment. Changes made after this time will incur service and reshipping fees.

7) Viewing your order history and status

If you would like to check your order status, or view your order history after you’ve ordered, just log back into the system and click My Account. You willl see a section listed as Orders: (your name here), with your orders placed through the e-commerce system listed below. Click on a specific order number to view the status of the order.

Orders listed as "Unshipped" are waiting to be forwarded to our fulfillment warehouse.

Orders or Items listed as "Backordered" are wish list items, and fulfillment is not guaranteed. If the status is changed to "Unshipped" or "In Process" your wish list has been granted.

Orders listed as "In Process" are being prepared for shipment at our fulfillment warehouse.

Orders listed as "Shipped" are currently in transit to you.

As tracking information becomes available during our shipping process, it will be loaded into your order information screen for your convenience. Please note that for those customers in 3-Tier states, your listed tracking number may not become active until the last part of the shipping process. This is due to the multiple locations the wine has to pass through to comply with state law. Rest assured that all locations are temperature controlled to preserve the quality of your wine.

If you need to change any order information after you’ve completed the order, please contact Customer Service.
